Continuing tutorship provides parents with children with intellectual or adaptive disabilities a means to continue to provide for and protect their children after the age of 18. In a full or limited capacity, parents can still have the ability to access medical and financial records and coordinate with the appropriate professionals to make sure that their children can transition into adulthood with dignity, but still the appropriate safeguards in place.
